DIY- Treatment for Dark Underarms

I always feel conscious while wearing sleeveless clothes not only because I have flabby arms but also because I suffer from the problem of dark underarms....I don't have any shame in admitting this fact because most women go through the same problem.

Causes of dark underarms:
  1. Regular shaving...which leaves ingrown hair which makes skin appear dark
  2. Excessive perspiration
  3. Use of alcohol based deodorants directly on the underarm skin
  4. Hereditary problems
  5. post-pregnancy changes
  6. obesity
Now, I have been doing this treatment since past three weeks and I saw some positive changes in my underarm area...so, I thought of sharing this treatment with you..It is very easy and just takes 15 minutes of your time before shower

So, lets get started :


WHAT YOU NEED

1. 3-4 teaspoons of sugar
2. 1 teaspoon of turmeric
3. 1 Lemon

WHY

SUGAR: Exfoliates your underarms and removes dead skin cells which cause darkening

TURMERIC: It is antiseptic and fades away any scars and hyper-pigmentation that the underarm skin may have

LEMON: Its a popular skin lightening agent

STEP -1

Churn the sugar in the mixer lightly...you don't want it to completely transform into a powder...the granularity of the sugar should be maintained


STEP -2

Put the turmeric in the sugar 


STEP -3

Now add lemon juice in the mixture


The paste should look like this after mixing


Apply this mixture for 15-20 minutes on your underarm area and scrub off gently...then wash the area with lukewarm water 

you should apply it twice a week to get faster results..

    Sounds good dear.. nice post.. i suffered from dark underarms due to shaving. i started epilating last year and now the problem is solved.. :)

    I also had this problem. But then i shaving, and switched to waxing.
    Its been 3 years now, i have'nt shaved my underarms and now the problem has been resolved.
    I would advice every1 not to shave underarms.

      shaving is definitely not a good option...but waxing ruptures the thin skin of my underarm area...therefore I can't wax it

    That's a really awesome at home remedy for dark underarms. I will try it some day soon. Right now I am using a specific deodorant that is supposed to be just for brightening underarms, and I think it works pretty well.

    I bought dermalmd lightening serum to use on my arm pits for the darkness that has occurred. I completed my laser hair removal therapy last year and now I noticed that the area was darker than the rest of my arms. I like how it goes on smooth and it has become a sort of bedtime routine. I have noticed some lightening of the area and I only started using it about a week ago.
